State government in India plans to lay off 300,000 employees

Published by deepweb at 5:22 pm under India and Pakistan, News, World Edit This

The state government of Bihar has threatened all its 300,000 employees currently on strike of firing them all at once. The Bihar state government non gazetted employees had gone on strike for their demand of implementing the recommendations of the 6th pay commission of the government of India.

The reason for non implementation of the recommendations of the 6th pay commission was said to be non availability of enough funds in the coffers of the state government. But the state government employees were not ready to listen and all of them went on strike leaving all government functions like health services throughout the state.

This only serves as a contrast during these times of economic crisis when all the private and public enterprises throughout the world are laying off employees due to poor market conditions. But the reason of layoffs here could be striking employees.. what a sorry state of affairs. The state government seems to bend on teaching the unruly government employees some lessons in discipline and the rule of law. The corruption and indiscipline among the state government employees is a major cause of the state being under developed. This remains one task in the hands of the Bihar state government to discipline the employees and teach them some ways to do service to the society.
