Barack Obama is finally going to sign the gigantic economic stimulus package that was recently passed by the US congress. So, this is going to be very interesting to see what effects the package will bring upon the US economy and the companies about to receive the package.
First of all what the US administration plans to achieve through the economic stimulus is the point to be noted. They want the US economy to jump back from the slumbers it has gone into after the economy crisis started showing its ugly face. Many financial institutions started failing in a row and the Bush government saved a few by donating some of the taxpayers money into the pot hole of unmindful management and planning.
Now the Obama administrations intends to do the same but with various different companies. Their main aim seems to save a few US jobs and provide the minimum resources for lively hood to many now jobless citizens. What surprises me this time is the size of the economic stimulus package that the planners have come up with. A huge 780 Billion dollars. Do they want to restart many industries as such in America or intend to save the few that are wailing loud in front of the White House for the precious money.
Whatever they might have planned the money will go only to the few who have the poser behind them and have been lobbying hard. The Fords and GMs who can never return to profitability in such short time will always secure their share of the alms and the likes of those who have been providing precious jobs by being efficient and maintaining the profit levels will be left out.
Let us now see what results this so eagerly awaited stimulus brings to the needful US industry.

Even when there were reports of Pakistan arresting three people suspected to have played some role in the Mumbai terror attacks, there was aroused a different controversy by an Indian suspected for assisting the Pakistani terrorist in carrying out the attacks.
Fahim Ansari had been suspected to have assisted the Pakistani terrorists in carrying out the Mumbai Terror attacks. He was interrogated by the Mumbai Police Crime branch. Fahim ansari had recently lodged a complaint against the crime branch for letting FBI officers interrogate him in connection to the attacks. Even as the City Crime branch was in the process of readying the answer to the question raised by his lawyer in court, he made a separate complaint against an American woman FBI officer who allegedly interrogated him along with two other male FBI officers.
How was he assaulted by the woman FBI officer is the question that arises as Fahim Ansari claimed that he had developed itches in private parts of his body as well as some wounds. Now how desperate was the FbI officer to experience a terror accused. Well now it remains to be seen what comes out of the process of investigations and conclusions from this issue.

The American entertainment giant Warner Brothers has in a recent statement said that they will outsource jobs to India. The economic recession has already taken a toll of thousands of jobs in the US. But all of those job losses were either in the banking and financial sectors or the automobile industry although the technology industry was hit to some extent too.
The Warner brothers will be laying off some of the jobs as well as outsourcing some of them. Some positions that are available right now will also be closed down. The number of job losses is not what is making it more notorious the news that some of those will be outsourced to India and Poland will be of concern to the already surrounded with problems, Obama administration.
It is now the turn of the so famous entertainment industry based at Hollywood to feel the pinch of economic recession. How sorry a state of affairs the mistakes of the financial planners of the state have lead their country and the world to. God knows how long it will take to come to the normal levels.
Hollywood recently made a movie based on plot that takes place in Mumbai. Has Mumbai and its movie industry come into Hollywood in more ways that just a movie plot?

The US administration has recently rejected the concept of the sphere of influence of Russia. Russia had been making claims that some neighboring countries which had originated after the disintegration of the Soviet Union were subject to approval of Russia in their internal as well as external affairs.
But Joseph Biden the Vice President of the United States said “We will not agree with Russia on everything,” . “For example, the United States will not recognize Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent states. We will not recognize a sphere of influence. It will remain our view that sovereign states have the right to make their own decisions and choose their own alliances.”
Russia has been blamed by the officials of the Obama administration for forcing Kyrgyzstan, a former Soviet Republic, to close the U.S. military base in that country. The US needs that military base as this is the only land supply route to their troupes based in Afghanistan.
But Russia has all rights to be concerned for the US building bases around its territories and can use what ever influence they have with their neighbours. Blaming Russia for what Kyrgyzstan decides is not the right thing to do.
America is again trying to overshadow Russia over the issues of Missile defence program which Russia has been opposing vehemently. This is another issue that the Obama administration needs to think over again if they want cordial relations with Russia.

Can you take it in?? Iraq has registered an unprecedented growth in the foreign tourist inflow in the country. They have registered a hundred percent growth in the number of foreign - read Western tourists visiting their country.
Recently there was a news by the New York Times that said there was a tourist in small town of Iraq that has no hotels. The tourist’s nationality was found to be Turkey and he had came to the country on a 10 day visa and entered the country land and reached Baghdad by taxi. It must have a been a roller coster ride for him. Touring a war ravaged country just after it went through its first democratic election after the US attack in 2003.
He seems to be lone tourist that came to Iraq after the 2003 US attacks. The people of the country must have been left feeling great after knowing that some one still wants to see their country if as the odds of getting hit by a bomb or rocket is higher than finding a hotel to live in.
Way to Iraqis.. You got to develop your tourist spots better - this will further increase the tourist inflow.

The US leaders seem to have become desperate to contain the Iranian ambitions. The US President gave his first ever interview after being sworn as the President to an Islamic news channel. Then he gave hints of writing a letter to the Iranian President disguised as an open letter to the Iranian people.
Again the vice president Joe Biden has given statements directly hinting that America is eager to talk to Iran. “We will be willing to talk to Iran” he said in a recent public address about how America is going to deal with matter around the world. This is a far too flexible an approach towards Iran from the times of President Bush. The Bush administration only talk about sanctions and investigations into Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions. But the Obama administration has hinted from the very start that they are willing to take a leap in matters concerning Iran.
This is way too fast an approach when we compare the US Iran relations in the recent times. They have not been on talking terms for very long time now. The only conversation that ever took place between the two countries was through news channels and other media. But now America seems to have realised that they can’t sideline Iran in the world politics.
Now after the Iranian launch of their self made satellite has shown their possession of technology that can lead to long range ballistic missiles development. American leaders have become more serious after this development. They now know they can get into serious problem if Iran continues in this pace and one day gets access to nuclear weapons technology. So, the desperation is obvious from their statements now and then around the world. It now remains to see what approach Iran takes to all these invitations to talk by American leaders.

Yes, this is what Federer told after losing the fifth time in a row to none other than his biggest rival ever - the spaniard Rafael Nadal. Federer has been trying so hard to equal the record of 14 grand slams for so long but Nadal is not letting him get that coveted record.
Nadal after beating Federer in the Austrialian open has joined the eliter club of those who have won grand slams on all three surfaces, but this record still eludes Federer. Although Nadal has been defeating Federer for the last five times they have faced each other, he keeps Federer on a high pedestal and doesn’t it get to his head. I think it must be of great help for Nadal for self encouragement to keep all the records of Federer in his mind before going full throtle against him.
It is just like you have gone to the north pole 5 times but still say that ‘I have not reached the Mount Everest yet’. He likes to keep fighting. It is like he wants to make the competition even tougher. He likes to fight harder to get his goal. It gives him more pleasure to defeat Federer than anyone else. Hope he achieve that in the US Open this time. May the Fighter win and the fight be as fierce as ever. This will kill Federer for if the Austrialian Open defeat did not.

International Business Machines (IBM) shows the way during the times of economic recession. IBM has been the leader of the technology industry and has been an example for more than two generations now. IBM announced their fourth quarter financial which reported a fiscal fourth quarter profit that exceeds the previous year’s profits by 12 percent.
IBM (IBM) reported net income of $4.43 billion, or $3.28 a share, up from $3.95 billion, or $2.80 a share, a year earlier.
The CEO of IBM Mr. Samuel Palmison said that IBM had done as expected and is about to perform even better in the next fiscal. The good news doesn’t end there, as there were no layoffs announced as the rumors were doing the rounds of hundreds of layoffs from IBM.
This only shows that companies with sound fundamentals and sensible business models will keep performing and that technology companies will most possibly remain profitable even while the banking sector and automobile sector is groping under the effects of recession.

The Pakistani government and the Pakistani army have now resorted to pure blackmail of the new US government under 44th US President Barack Obama. The US government in the first ever statement related to US aid to Pakistan had said that all non military aid to Pakistan would now be linked to Pakistan’s performance on the War on Terror front. US had said that it was Pakistan’s responsibility to keep the borders of Afghanistan common with Afghanistan and that Pakistan should not let its territories be used as a hideout for the Taliban and Al-Qaida terrorists. The US forces have in recent times been facing attacks by these terrorists launched from Pakistani territories adjoining Afghanistan.
The Pakistani government and the Pakistani army replied to this US statement by saying that Pakistan may have to review all options related to its support to the War on Terror. What does it mean? This means in plain terms that Pakistan will keep using US non military aid for purposes of encouraging hardline Talibani islamic fundamentals in its territories and wouldn’t take any actions against the web of terrorist training camps sprouted throughout its territories.
Pakistan has resorted to plain blackmail of the US. They want the US to continue giving our huge aid to Pakistan without even thinking where the money goes. The aid given to them have been used in the past to fund the terror network throughout the Pakistani territories and the ISI’s covert plans against India. They want this to continue otherwise Pakistan will pull their troupes from the Afghan borders. They had recently resorted to blackmail just after the terrorist strikes in Mumbai. Pakistan has become a rogue state and should be dealt like one without any discrimination.
